Harvest and storage: summer and autumn harvest, washed, sliced, dried.
[ ] the original morphology of stout woody lianas, ca. 6m. The whole plant with latex; stems and branchlets green skin. The young leaves, petioles, inflorescence densely shortly tomentose. Leaves opposite; petiole ca. 5mm; leaf blade subleathery, oval or oblong, elliptic-lanceolate, length 7-15cm, width 4-5cm; apex acuminate, base cuneate or obtuse; leaf surface gloss, abaxial leaf midrib is apparent, pubescent. Terminal poly umbels, buds oblong, apex obtuse head; white flowers; calyx lobes 5, oblong, apex acute; corolla lobes 5, oblong-lanceolate or longer than corolla tube bayonet, usually short, thin equal; corona small, scale-like; stamens 5, inserted on corolla tube is inflated, the anther and filament length. Ovarian 2 rooms, styles short, stigma enlarged into a cylindrical shape. Berry ellipsoid, with pointed, up to 7cm, about 3cm in diameter, orange or orange-red when ripe. Seeds numerous, long elliptic or bilaterally compressed. Flowering of 5-8 months, fr. 7-12.

Ecological environment : in 500-1500m elevation mountain woodlands, slopes, roadsides, rock.
Resource distribution: distribution in Sichuan, Guizhou and other places.
