[ ] the original form Menispermum dauricum perennial twining, up to more than 10m. Roots slender, creeping, yellowish brown or dark brown, with branches. Branchlets green, with fine longitudinal stria. Leaves alternate; round kidney shaped or oval, edge 3-7 lobes subtriangular, length, width of each 5-15cm, apex acuminate, base cordate or truncate, green above, pale below, palmately veined 5-7; petiole shield shape, long 6-15cm. Axillary short panicles, peduncles long 3-7cm; the flower is small, yellowish green, with bracteoles; stamens 10-20; female carpels 3, separation. Drupe compressed globose, diameter 8-10mm, dark purple when ripe, endocarp hard, reniform oblate, with an annular protuberance glyph. Flowering of 5-6 months, fr. 7-9.
