Herbs perennial, high 30-50cm. Roots thick, horizontal, purple-brown; stems erect, glabrous, unbranched or lower branches. Basal leaf blade lanceolate or narrowly lanceolate, long 6-12cm,1-3cm wide, apex long acuminate, margin revolute leaf thickness, base cuneate; shape or suborbicular, decurrent into along the petiole narrowly winged, green above, below celadon, cauline leaves smaller, subsessile; ocrea tubular, membranous, brown, apex oblique, long 2-5cm.
Racemes into spikes, close, long 2-6cm. Achenes ovoid, with 3 ridges, long 3-3.5mm, brown, shiny.
