Medicine source: liliaceous plant leaf sarsaparilla roots of strychnos.
Latin animal mineral name: Smilax lunglingensis Wang et Tang [ S.siderophylla Hand.-Mazz ]
Harvest and storage: the year may collect, clean, sliced, dried.
[ ] the original morphology of loganin leaf sarsaparilla, climbing shrub, stems and branches with longitudinal stripes or edge, usually sparsely spiny. Leaves alternate; petiole length 2-3cm, no scabbard or sheath is very narrow, usually in the middle with tendrils, dropping point is located in the upper; leaf blade thickly leathery, elliptic, ovate-elliptic to oblong, long 5-11cm, 3-9cm wide, apex usually slightly convex, sometimes almost acuminate, base subrounded; main veins 3 above sag. Umbels 2-4 arranged in short panicles; peduncle long 3-10mm, receptacle of inflorescence slightly inflated, subglobose; flowers unisexual, dioecious; tepals 6, outer tepals yellow; male flowers of about 6mm, about 2mm in width, inner tepals about 1mm in width, stamens 6, long 3-6mm; female than male flowers are small, with 3 staminodes, ovarian 3 rooms, post 3 crack. Berry is globose, diameter 5-6mm, black when ripe. Flowering of 3-4 months, fr. 8-10.
