Bark grayish brown, with pale yellow massive spalling; young branchlets reddish brown, glabrous, old branches dark brown, glabrous; terminal buds ovoid, apex obtuse, glabrous or hairy only upper scale. Leaves alternate; petiole length 1-2cm, above the pilose; leaf blade leathery, oblong or lanceolate, long 5-10cm, 2-3.5cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, margin entire, above green glossy green, gray and white below, both surfaces glabrous, pinnately veined, lateral veins on each side of 9-10, midvein slightly below uplift, reticulate is not obvious. Dioecious; umbels axillary, sessile; bracts caducous; tepals 6, equal, ca. 2mm 9-12; male flowers: stamens, anthers 4 rooms, are introverted 4-valved; female ovary subglobose, style sparsely puberulent, stigmas 2 crack, staminodes filiform, with long hairs. Fruit globose or subglobose, ca. 6-8mm, apex mucronate, base with a night latch tepals flat fruit care; fruiting pedicels ca. 5mm, rather stout, Guo Chu red, ripe when black.
