Japanese Premna, aka: spot magpie child, turtledove station.
Shrubs, ca. 4 m tall. Branchlets grayish brown when young, cylindrical, multiple pilose, rich in mucus. Leaves opposite, petiole short or nearly sessile, pubescent; leaves ovate to lanceolate to ovate,2 to6 cm long,7 to30 mm wide, apex acute or acuminate, margin entire or undulating, sometimes the top one or two deeply lobed, base broadly cuneate or rounded, green above, below a short, densely short, knead have odor. Cymes, pale yellow flowers, bracts linear, calyx tube short, hairy. With 5 teeth fissure, apex obtuse; corollaceous canister shape, being short, slightly two lip, upper lip slightly concave top, lower lip cleft in 3; stamens 4; pistil 1, ovary superior. Nutlets, ca. 4 mm in diam. Florescence 5to June.
