Leaves alternate; petiole about 1cm, white, hairy; leaves obovate or oval-lanceolate, apex acuminate, base wedge-wide, serrated edge with thick, densely white hairs below. From head-like inflorescence composed of racemes, axillary or apical; ray florets, tubular flowers are yellow, petal length 8mm, have more white hair; stamens 5, ovary glabrous. Achenes, cylindrical, with sharp, crested white, hard. Flowering September to November.
