Ferulic

This product is irregular-shaped block and grease. Color shades, yellow to brown wax surface. Block are light weight, texture, like wax, slightly cross-section pore; fresh cut surface lighter in color, placed after the color wore. Grease-like those sticky, gray. A strong and lasting garlic-like odor specificity, spicy taste, chewing the burning sensation.

Scientific Name: Ferula sinkiangensis K. M. Shen

Classification: Umbelliferae, Xinjiang ferulic or Kanga Wei Fu

Medicinal parts: resin

Main origin: the distribution of Soviet Central Asia region and Iran, Afghanistan.

Harvest: Spring and early summer flowering to early fruit period after graded by the Ministry under the cut stems to collect the milky resin exudation

Processing: dried, pick impurities, chop into small pieces.

Chemical composition: ferulic containing volatile oil, resin and gum. Quality Jialiang persons (granular materials) can get 10 to 17% volatile oil, resin, 40 to 64%, gum 25%, ash of about 1.5 to 10%. Block product contains inorganic impurities and some up to 60%.

Tropism of taste: bitter, acrid, warm. The spleen and stomach.

Function: negatively, bulk swelling of the liver, insecticide.

Indications: for the meat stagnation, blood stasis Zheng Jia, belly lump, parasitic abdominal pain.
