Latin animal mineral name: Ludwigia prostrata Roxb.
Harvest and storage: Autumn grubbing, washed, dried or fresh.
[ ] the original morphology of annuals, high 40-60cm. The majority of fibrous roots; seedling procumbent ground, or tilting horizontal shape, after pumping stems erect or the lower ramp, much branched, with longitudinal ribs, reddish purple, glabrous or slightly by undercoat. Leaves alternate; petiole length3-8mm; leaf blade lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, length 2-8cm, width 1-2cm, entire, subglabrous, with purple spots. Flowers bisexual, single born in leaf axils, yellow, sessile, basal bracteoles 2; calyx tube connate with ovary, sepals 4, ovate-lanceolate, long 2.5-3mm, slightly pubescent outside; petals 4, slightly shorter than calyx lobes; stamens 4; ovary inferior, styles short, single capitate stigma. Capsule linear four square, some4 prism, length 1-4cm, width of about1.5mm, slightly purple, after maturation chamber back irregularly dehiscent; seeds numerous, small, smooth, brown. Flowering of 7-8 months, fr.9-10.
