Medicine medium source: Polygonum cuspidatum, or medicinal rhubarb Rheum tanguticum, stems or shoot.
Latin botanical mineral name: 1.Rheum palmatum L.2.Rheum animal palmatum L. var. tanguticumMaxim.Ex Rngel. ( R.Tanguticum Maxim.Ex Balf. )3.Rheum officinale Baill.
Harvest and storage:8-9 months after seed maturation excavation of plant roots, cut made after taking rhubarb, stems, also can be in spring picking seedling. Clean, fresh or dried.

1tall herbaceous perennial. Rootstock stout. Stems erect, about 2m, hollow, glabrous. Basal leaves are large, thick fleshy leaves and long handle, about long; leaf blade broadly cordate or suborbicular, diameter of more than 40cm,3-7palmatipartite, each lobe often to pinnatifid, above the flow of papillae, following a pilose; cauline leaves smaller, with a short handle; ocrea tubular, densely pubescent. Inflorescence circular cone, apex; pedicels slender, part of joint. Flowers purplish red or reddish purple; tepals 6, ca.1.5mm, in 2 series; stamens 9; styles 3. Achenes3ribs, winged along the edge, the top micro concave, base subcordate, dark brown. Florescence 6-7 month, month of fruit period 7-8.
The 2kind of big yellow with its very similar, the main difference: leaves deeply lobed, lobes often form a triangle shape lanceolate or narrowly linear, lobes narrow. Inflorescence branches dense, straight up, close to the stem.
